The tornado that ripped through this southwest
Georgia town March 7th not only left a trail of
death and devastation, it also stripped bare the only
major medical facilities for thousands of people in a
sprawling rural community. The storm, which killed two
people here, tore apart buildings and unearthed
100-year-old oak trees, left this town of nearly 17,000
and the outlying area without a hospital or clinic that
could handle emergencies. Your Middle Flint Chapter
along with the National Guard, Local and surrounding Law
Enforcement, Volunteers, and Area Residents pulled
together to come to the aid of those less fortunate and
rebuild our town.
